Great revenge film with certainly a worthy story that is also well represented in terms of action. The acting is nothing wrong with that and Antonio Banderas grows as an actor with his age. I won't deny that this story has been told a thousand times, but that seriously doesn't make this movie any less. Great entertainment!

You can't avoid the fact that this film should be eligible for a B-status.

Pretty moronic all. Banderas' voice over sounds irritatingly like sandpaper,

and then, halfway through the film, he decides to say no more about his role in his role

lips to come. Although the reason is clear: Words say nothing, he indicated

the beginning of the movie. Just four words. I love you. Quite a few already

hoot! And rather pretentious a so-called layout. Part 1, part 2.... With every time

introduction a philosophical proverb of the Roman emperor/philosopher Aurelius. The movie will

apparently suggesting intelligence, witness also the time jump application to the past

to the beginning of the movie. Also the very smooth metamorphosis to an effective one

fighter boss makes your ears flutter anyway.

And yet I didn't really think this was a bad movie. There are several fight scenes

pretty good looking. Also those in the ring, by the way, with a Fight Club atmosphere. And has the

film, stupid as it is, yet something. Also due to the presence of Banderas,

which is actually not that bad at all. Just like several big names apparently

turned into a pure bread actor, although I saw him shine again some time ago

in Almodovar's Dolor Y Gloria. I'll stick with a two and a half as a rating.

Frank Valera [Antonio Banderas] is a devious lawyer willing to use any trick to exonerate his clients. When his wife [Cristina Serafini] and daughter [Lillian Blankenship] die under suspicious circumstances, he immediately realizes that Detective Lustiger [Johnathon Schaech] is now using those same tricks to prolong the investigation of the case. Frank therefore investigates himself and of course turns out to be a fighting machine in his fight for justice. Nothing original, nothing sensible, nothing interesting.
