Good movie in which a few punks get in touch with a few special girls during an afterparty. Nice weird. Not in a vague way, but rather fun (there are also a few funny scenes). It is certainly original and that also applies to the decor (punk and sci-fi mixed, situated in England at the end of the 70s).

Late 70s. Enn [Alex Sharp] is a teenager trying his best to fit in with the burgeoning punk movement. At a concert by punk band Queen Boadicea, he meets Zan [Elle Fanning], an attractive girl who turns out to be just as much of an outsider as Enn. Enn soon discovers why. Charming romantic comedy with an original and surprising twist but a somewhat bizarre ending. Fanning doesn't get beyond her typical mannered acting style, but Sharp is perfect and Kidman is a pleasant surprise as punk rock goddess Boadicea. Joanna Scanlan is a scream as Enn's mother... or something.

Nicole Kidman marathon 43#

Absurd film, it has something, but also not.

A movie I watched via Youtube, because I couldn't really find it anywhere or it was an expensive joke and then also without NL subtitles. Luckily I didn't spend any money on it, because it wasn't really worth it.

The setting is nice, in England, the music, the clothes, the premise, but it all becomes a bit too weird and uninteresting what they managed to accomplish with it. Fanning has I think the best role you can do something with, the role of Kidman is not that great and the rest actually not that great either.

Towards the end it all takes a little too long and you are left with questions and somewhat dissatisfied.
