The Guns of August plot

This film begins with the outbreak of the First World War, in August 1914. The film illustrates that the royal houses in Europe were repeatedly warned that intervention was necessary to prevent the war. The assassination attempt on Archbishop Ferdinand was the official start of that war, but the real cause lay in the impotence of the heads of state, who were unable to prevent the disaster.
