"Experts say nothing will happen. What if they're wrong?"

Nick Cromwell (Ken Olin) is an expert on complex system failures and an independent consultant working for the government's 'Z2' project to ensure the country meets the requirements for the year 2000. While the minutes until the As the new millennium ticks away, a concerned Nick advises to take precautions and convinces his boss, Martin Lowell (Morton), to ground all planes before midnight. While Nick waits, it is slowly but surely reaching midnight all over the world and the United States is getting closer to the point where the dreaded Millennium Problem will be a reality.
