Brilliant series. Great actors, great atmosphere, good story... which is sometimes a bit complicated due to the many names and characters. For the rest, definitely recommended and again an HBO classic. Both lead roles, Woody and Matthew, are Oscar-worthy!

This was simply a TV highlight of the year 2014...in one word amazing.
Coolest series ever and I think it will be hard to see something like this again.
A phenomenal Matthew McConaughey and hats off to Woody Harrelson too.
The rest of the cast was also above average.
The dark and dark atmosphere in this film is one that gives me goosebumps when you talk about it, the only series I also bought on BR after watching it.
For anyone who hasn't seen this series yet.....go see it because it's a high-quality visual spectacle!!!

Completely revised for a second time today. Sometimes you can appreciate a series/movie just a little more (or not) when you watch it for the second time.
Just like the first one, this season leaves a huge impression on me. Everything just seems right. The setting, the acting, the story, the music. It is all so very good and for TV perhaps even more impressive. I mean, how many shows have two such acting guns as McConaughey and Harrelson in the lead? And then also the cinematography which is of a cinematic level.
What I also love is the time span in which it takes place in sultry Louisiana. 1995, 2002 and 2012. And in every time span, attention has been paid to the small details such as hair, clothing style and small character developments etc.
The dialogues in this series are also phenomenal and even that, I think is an understatement. It is really excellent writing that has been delivered here and you rarely see this on TV. The first episode may have come in for a while because it might still go a bit from hot to here, but from episode 3 "The Locked Room" it goes wild.
Such a great series!
